Miguel JACQ

Hi, I'm a (former) poet living in Melbourne. I am French (Breton)-Australian. Mixed culture and its impact on identity often presented as a core theme of much of my work.

In 2013 my poem Nine Year Microwave Sky was shortlisted for the Australian Poetry Science Poetry Prize, and in 2016 my poem vitis vinifera was shortlisted for the New Shoots Poetry Prize.

In 2016 and 2018 I won the Nillumbik Ekphrasis Poetry Prize (Open category) for my poems Flower of distant season and The map is damaged and beautiful, respectively. The former was published in Award Winning Australian Writing (2017), which you may be able to still find in bookshops.

I'm no longer writing, but you can find some of my published poems here. Thanks to the various journals and competitions for accepting my work over the years.

And thanks to you for stopping by.
